"Uttarakhand Music" is an initiative to present a nice collection of mp3 songs and videos of Uttarakhand state (formerly known as Uttaranchal) i.e. Garhwali and Kumaoni to its visitors. Uttarakhand state is divided into two divisions namely Garhwal and Kumaon. Songs sung in Garhwal are called Garhwali Songs whereas Kumaon part is all about Kumaoni Songs. Sometimes ago while surfing on the internet, I found that there are not enough Garhwali and Kumaoni songs available on the web. And the ones those are available either not free of cost or constrained by hectic signup or registration process.

So I decided to come up with a website that is free for all and having a simple download process. In short, my idea behind launching this website is : a website blended with the folk music of Uttarakhand in order to provide its users, visitors and listeners all the famous pahari songs as well as to promote the local music of Uttarakhand at global level.
